What You’ll Do:
- Conduct site reviews of new single-family and multi-family projects to ensure compliance with construction quality standards and building codes.

- Identify and recommend solutions to address deficiencies in building code compliance, methods, materials, and workmanship.
- Provide technical construction reviews for the claims department and offer guidance on construction matters to underwriting and claims teams.
- Maintain strong relationships with builders, trades, project consultants, and other industry stakeholders.
- Travel daily to construction sites within your assigned region using a company vehicle.
Who You Are:
- 5 years of experience in the residential construction industry.
- 1-3 years of home warranty experience is a plus but not required.
- Knowledgeable in residential construction procedures, methods, techniques, and building codes.
- Tech-savvy with the ability to learn inspection software and use Microsoft Office products.
- Familiar with provincial work safe requirements.
- Holds a valid driver’s license and is capable of maintaining it in good standing.
- Post-secondary education in Construction Management or Construction Science and/or a Red Seal Carpenter certificate or Journeyperson trade is an asset but not required.

We are currently looking to add another Underwriter to our growing team. Underwriting is like the office version of being a private detective. It’s a role that encourages critical thinking and decision making and it’s all about risk management, reviewing our builder clients and protecting the health of our home warranty program. It’s a detailed role where you’ll be in charge of compiling and gathering information, reviewing all the details about our builders including financial statements, and taking action based on those findings.
