Steel add to coaching staff with familiar names


Greg Parks is hoping a little more St. Albert flavour on the bench will end up in more local talent playing for him in the future. This week, the Steel added Wes Werhun and Donovan Sugiyama as assistant coaches. The two will aid Parks as they try improve on last year’s disappointing seventh place finish in the Alberta Junior Hockey League’s North Division.

Congratulations Donovan!

Movember

There are several unshaven members of the Progressive team wandering around office hallways these days, but it's all for a good cause.  They've taken up the Movember challenge and are growing a mustache during the month of November.  The term Movember comes from "Mo" (as in mustache) and November.  Funds raised will directly go towards fighting prostate cancer in Canada. Already Movember 2010 has raised $7.5 million to battle the number one cancer affecting men.  You can donate to the Progressive team, dubbed the "Moformers" by clicking here.

 

Michael Garritty, Roberta Garritty, Jason Davis, and John Eaton were all in attendance at the 2010 CHBA Conference this year in Jasper. Many thanks to all that participated in the event, we can't wait until next year!

PHW would also like to congratulate WestView Builders of Calgary as they were victorious in a single family category, while Sorento Custom Homes of Red Deer won a multi-family award. 

Progressive Proformers were thrilled to win the B Event Final in the recent CHBA - Edmonton Region Slo-pitch Tournament.  The Proformers reeled off three wins in a row on the second day of the tournament to take the B Final on August 22. Thanks to CHBA - Edmonton Region for organizing another great event and the Proformers will be back next year looking to do even better. 

The Progressive Team, combined with family and friends, raised over $8,500 for the Canadian Cancer Society on June 12, 2010! Team members took turns running at fowler park track in St.Albert for 12 consecutive hours representing the fight against cancer, which never sleeps. Progressive Home Warranty would like to thank everyone who participated in the event.

Progressive Home Warranty is excited to announce our participation in Canadian Cancer Society Relay for Life Event. We will be fighting against cancer on June 12^th by relaying for 12 straight hours.

Progressive Home Warranty has always given back to our community through our donations to various charities. However, this year we have decided to give back in a more powerful way- by raising money and taking the time to get ready and participate in this life altering journey.

We are doing it because we can. Because we all know someone who had to endure the fight against cancer. Based on current incidence rates, 40% of Canadian women and 45% of men will develop cancer in their lifetime. It is truly heartbreaking! We want to help change these statistics!

· All proceeds go to Canadian Cancer Society for world class research, support, information and prevention.

Progressive Home Warranty would like to congratulate Ackard Contractors for their Renovator of the year award at the 2010 Awards of Excellence in Housing, hosted by the Canadian Home Builders' Association.

Progressive would also like to congratulate Davery Consulting & Custom Homes for their nomination for Best Single Family - Over $425,000.
